Picking sea glass and fossils from the shore, kayaking around the waterways, bird watching, cross country skiing and pulling today’s catch. Be sure to have your batteries recharged because you will want to take photographs of the beauty that surrounds you.

Festivals, antique car shows, fishing tournaments, evening bands by the water, bicycle races, 5K runs and so much more right in Algoma, and within walking distance. There’s a parade for Shanty Days that runs right in front of Algoma Victorian Stay, and Wet Whistle Wine Fest if a couple blocks away. A historical visit would be to Our Lady of Good Help. The Peshtigo fire is part of the Chapel’s story along with the fact that it is the only apparition within the United States.

Door County

Day trips are so much fun. For a start, Sturgeon Bay is only 15 minutes away. But why stop there. Lake Michigan side, Green Bay side, there is so much to see and do.

Green Bay

Green Bay is only about a half hour drive so you might as well visit Lambeau Field, right? RIGHT! And the Packers Hall of Fame, Weidner Center, Bay Beach Amusement Park, Wildlife Sanctuary, Neville Museum… you got the picture.

Kewaunee

Visit the Ludington Tug, Bruemmer Park, Kewaunee Winter Park, Kewaunee Beach, Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse, Kewaunee Custard, Kewaunee Fisheries Facility, Historical County Jail Museum, Parallel 44 Winery, Cold Country Vine and Wines, Wakker Cheese, or LaFond’s Fish House.
